Pharmacy
Our in-house pharmacy is managed by Denise Raunegger, CPhT. She is a licensed pharmacy technician in the state of Ohio. We also have a direct pharmacy phone line at (440) 946-2801 with message back-up so clients can request refills of existing prescriptions at any time of day. Clients may also request refills by email via Pet Portals. Once approved by an attending veterinarian, the medication can be picked up at the reception desk within 3-4 hours of the refill request. The patient must have been examined by our veterinarians within the last year to have refills on any prescription medication.

The doctors and staff at Animal Hospital, Inc. care about your pet's health. If your pet is on a long term medication, or has a chronic disease that is being managed by medication, it is important taht we monitor blood tests that help us tell how the medication is interacting with your pet's body, if the dose is still correct, and the progression of the disease. Sometimes more frequent physical exams are needed to monitor the patient's condition. We will do our best to communicate when these health actions are needed. If you would like an email reminder, we would be happy to set that up for you.

We are doing our best to keep costs down for our clients during this difficult economic time. That is why we have a bundling program for heartworm and flea prevention. When you purchase a whole season worth of product, it saves us time and money so we can pass along the lower price to you.

Savings are not limited to heartworm and flea products. Other medications, like Rimadyl, Deramaxx, Atopica, and Anipryl, can be purchased in bulk. We stock a wide range of veterinary drugs, which are comparably priced with other providers, including online pharmacies. If you need products sent by mail, we can do that, too.

**Notice to clients with pets on Deramaxx**

Deramaxx is currently available in very limited quantities.

Novartis, the maker of Deramaxx, has temporararily closed the plant that manufactures the product to comply with government requirements.

All of the Deramaxx that has been available is safe, but there are only small quantities that will be made starting at the end of January.

Please call ahead for refills.
We may only be able to dispense small quantities at a time.

If we are not able to secure sufficient quantities for all of our patients it may become necessary to change to an alternative product. This decision will be made on an individual basis by your veterinarian to provide the safest and most effective product for each dog's health.

Animal Hospital Inc. will, as always, seek to provide the most accurate information on this ongoing shortage. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
